Hand to hand is incredibly boring. We fold our 66, then our 79. Why even look? Would we play AA? Mmmmm, yes. Economically it makes no sense, but we would do it. We fold and fold and fold. Seat 3 raises to 10000 and we fold the 9Th from the bb instead of chipping in 6000 to see if we hit a monster. Why? Because 60th place is so important. The inhumanity of it.
Finally someone busts. We are in the money and can play poker now, but we are down to 34000 in chips. Our only move is to push really.
First hand in the money someone at our table busts. A lot of people were playing uber tight as we were. Now it's like the ending of a terrible constipation. Yep, donkey has gone dark.
Seat 4 bets 9000 and we are in the bb with Q9s. We push all in. He folds. Great.
We push all in on the button with A8. The blinds fold. Great.
Next hand we push all in from seat 5 with AQ and everyone folds. Would have liked a call, but fine taking down a pot of 10000 as we are playing 2500-5000 with 500 antes.
Another player busts from our table and we are on hold waiting for a table to break. After it took an hour for one person to break, six broke in 11 minutes.
We have 93500.
Seat 4 raises to 11000 and the Sb calls. We have AT in the bb. We could call, but we are out of position. We push hoping they will fold but okay with a call. Seat 4 calls with AQ. We are a big dog. His Q holds up and we exit in 50th place.
Had some frustration this tournament. Still mad about finding the JQ. Maybe we would have gotten knocked out but more likely we would have had a big stack. Oh well - glad to finally cash this year!
Thanks for following along. Tomorrow is PLO so probably won't be blogging. May play the next nlh 6 handed tourney though - this one went well and tomorrow's starts at 4.
All the best,
