NLH 6-Handed Championship Rounds 7-8

Playing 250-500 with 50 antes. 5 players right now so pre card pots of 1000.

Button raises to 1100 and we are in the Sb with KK. Cowboys again! Normally we would raise but the bb is short stacked with 7000 and hopefully will go all in when we call. That would allow us to raise the button with a 21000 pot in the backdrop (assuming he calls the bb all in). Sadly bb folds. Flop comes 45Q. We slow play and check. He checks. Damn burn comes 6. We bet 2500 and he calls. River pairs the Q. Unlikely he has a Q because he checked and then called, so not worried. We bet 5000 and he calls. He mucks when he sees the Cowboys.

We then go into a strange small pot losing streak. No one is betting large into us. It's like they're afraid, but we keep missing. Twice we flop flush draws that never hit, once an open ended straight draw that fails and once KQ that never finds a pair. It's a one way outward door for chips for a while that drains close to 20000. One of the problems is the short stack to our left has pushed all in for 8 or 9 thousand pushing us out. Time to narrow the playing hands?

Now playing 300-600 with 75 antes. 6-handed so 1350 in the pot before cards are dealt. We have about 95000 in chips.

Seat 3 bets 1400 and the button calls. We are in the bb being visited by a pair of aces. Hello boys. We raise to 3600 and they both call. Flop comes 24Q with 2 diamonds. We should check. If they got a Q they will bet. If they didn't and we bet they will fold. Sucks to be out of position here. We bet 6000 and they both fold.

Seat 5 limps and we are on the button with A9. The limp is strange as he hasn't done that in the last 7 hours and he only has 10000 in chips. He either has a monster pair awaiting or a drawing hand like suited connectors or a small pair. We bet 1700 and the blinds fold to him. He pushes all in and we call. He shows 22. It's a race. Flop comes AA8. Giddey up. Turn and river don't help him and we take it down.

We see a few flops and fold. Each flop has a sticker price of about 1500 so we can't do too much of this shopping.

Also, we are 5-handed now so playing so drawing hands are less valuable when they hit.

In a 3-handed pot button raises to 1600 and we re-raise in the bb to 3600 w KK. Third time! He calls and flop comes 8TQ with 2 hearts. We bet 3000 and he calls. Turn comes 6. We bet 10000 and he calls. River comes 6c and we go all in. He has about 40000 left. He folds.

We lose a handful of small pots and a couple mid size ones that I can't specifically recall and couldn't take notes on.

Last hand of the round seat 5 bets 1250 and we call from the bb with J5. Flop comes 678 with 2 clubs. We bet 1600 and he raises to 3600. We call with the open ended straight draw. Turn is a Td. We check and he checks. River is a 3d. We have nothing. We bet 4400 and he folds. Geat result.

We end round 8 with 109000 in chips. It's 1am and we have 2 hours to go. We are tired. Have to play in a calm state and avoid big mistakes and big bluffs.
